The Francophone Association for Computer Theatre (AFIT) was created with the following goals:

• Promote the discipline of computer theater (ou theatrical computing) in the French-speaking world and in its relations with other disciplines and the rest of the world;.
• Encourage exchanges between practitioners, researchers, artists, technicians, institutions, and organizations interested in this field;.
• Foster research, creation, dissemination, and documentation of projects and practices related to computer theater;.
• Organize meetings, symposia, workshops, publications, demonstrations, or any other activity aimed at raising awareness of and developing the discipline.
